Having trouble setting up your GPRS/WAP? Here are some useful steps, but if we can’t help you try to contact you service provider.
GPRS Settings
For Vodacom GPRS/3G settings either dial *111# from your phone or visit www.vodacom.co.za. You can also call 082 111 (just 111 from a vodacom cell phone) and speak to an operator to set up and activate your GPRS.
MTN users can visit www.mtn.co.za to set up there GPRS or call 083 173 (just 173 from a MTN phone to speak to an operator to set up and activate thier GPRS.
Cell C users can visit www.cellc.co.za to set up there GPRS or call 084 140 (just 140 from a CELLC phone ) and speak to an operator to set up and activate thier GPRS.
Virgin Mobile users do not have to download any settings as there sim cards are pre loaded with GPRS settings.
WAP Settings
For Vodacom WAP settings you can call 082 111 (just 111 from a vodacom cell phone) and get assistance from an operator in setting up WAP or you can visit www.vodacom.co.za. Alternatively you can dial *111# and follow the steps they provide.
For MTN WAP settings you can call 083 173 (just 173 from a MTN cell phone) and get assistance from an operator in setting up WAP or you can visit www.mtnice.co.za.
For CELLC WAP settings you can call 084 140 (just 140 from a CELLC cell phone) and get assistance from an operator in setting up WAP or you can visit www.cellc.co.za. Alternatively you can SMS ’smartdata’ to 084 155 9911 and you will recieve your settings to be saved on your phone. (Free SMS) Please note: Your phone will have to support OTA (Over The Air) Functionality.
For WAP setting on Virgin Mobile you must request the settings by going to the ‘Virgin Mobile’ menu which you will find on either the main menu or applications menu of your mobile. Select ‘Virgin Mobile’. Select ‘Virgin Settings’ and reply YES when asked if you’d like to download them.
