The NNPC/MPN Joint Venture invites applications from suitably qualified persons into our Apprenticeship Program beginning January 2011. The Program is designed for young Nigerians with an interest in pursuing an Operations and Maintenance Technician career in the oil and gas or related industry.

ELIGIBILITY:
1. Only applicants with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in one of the following disciplines are eligible to apply:
(a) Mechanical Engineering Technology
(b) Electrical Engineering Technology
(c) Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology
(d) Petroleum Engineering Technology
(e) Chemical Engineering Technology
Applicants with higher qualifications should not apply.
2. Applicants must have graduated from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program between January 1, 2008 and
December 31, 2010, and possess a minimum of Lower Credit.
REMUNERATION
This position offers a competitive compensation and benefit package commensurate with what is obtainable in the upstream oil & gas industry.

The LMS Prevention Organizational Systems AIDS Care and Treatment Project (ProACT) is a USAID-funded project managed by Management Sciences for Health (MSH). The goal of the project is to huild the capacity of Nigeria’s public/private institutions and communities to strengthen sustainable systems for HIV/ AIDS and TB service delivery. The project seeks to recruit highly creative and innovative individuals with cutting edge technical skills and integrity to fill the following vacant position:
Job Title: State Laboratory Systems Specialist (1 Position)
The objective of the Laboratory Specialist position is to provide technical leadership and management of the project State laboratory program in a manner that strengthens state government ownership and leadership of continuous lab improvements and leads to sustainable HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts.
Qualification:
The suitable candidate shall posses a post graduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science and at least 5 years technical working experience in an automated HIV/AIDS laboratory and demonstrable capacity to operate a CD4, hematology and chemistry automated equipment.
- She/he will bave program management experience panicularly with relevance to managing laboratory systems at a senior level.
- Experience managing, supervising and coaching laboratory staff is mandatory.
- PEP FAR experience is desirable. Experience in operations research and health system strengthening shall be an added advantage.

The Job:
The appointee: will be required to contribute to the overall Corporate Communications and Public Relations activities of NLNG in order to sustain the positive perception of NLNG among its stakeholders and publics.
The duties will include, but are not limited to, the Following:
• Arrange logistics for corporate visits to the Plant Complex; and execute all public relations events for the Plant Complex in Finima, Bonny (and Rivers State).
• Act as custodian of NLNG’s corporate history and archivist of all PR materials including audio-visuals and literatures; distribute end-of-year gifts and PR materials (calendars and diaries) in Bonny.
• Write feature stories and covet company events in Bonny and Rivers State generally for use in company and external publications; contribute material (and audio-visual) to the departmental intranet sire and NLNG’s corporate web site; contribute to the periodic evaluation and measurement of the cffectivcness of corporatc communications and public relations functions.
• Liaise with service providers towards the production of good quality videos and photos for internal and external media, plus run the programming for NLNG’s Residential Area television channel (RA TV).
The Person:
The right candidate should:
• Possess a minimum of five (5) years post-graduation experience, at least three (3) of which should have been spent in public relations, advertising, or journalism.
• Possess a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) Bachelor’s Degree in English, Mass Communication or other related courses in the humanities.
• Possess good and demonstrable writing and photographic skills.
• Possess good presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Familiarity with the use of Microsoft FrontPage, Dreamweaver, PhotoshopCorel Draw or such computer design software “will be an advantage.
• Not be more than 35 years old.
